One of the values central to what we’re building at SHACK15 is service —service to our local community and the world at large. As part of this, we’ve placed a lot of emphasis on being of service to local small businesses by partnering with them and supporting and amplifying their work in our space and with our members.

We never imagined we’d be finding ourselves in these unprecedented times, when small businesses need our support the most.

We're saddened at the impact of COVID-19 on our communities, particularly the at-risk and most-impacted persons, workers and businesses. Many small and local vendors are being hit hard and need our support in order for them to continue supporting their workers. As we all navigate these challenging times, we want to highlight a few businesses we know and love, and encourage our SHACK15 community to come together and support establishments that continue to stay open during the shelter-in-place.

CUESA's Ferry Plaza Farmers Market

We've been honored to partner with CUESA, who runs markets in SF and Oakland including the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, for a number of events at SHACK15. CUESA's mission is to grow thriving communities through the power and joy of local food, which they do by providing access to fresh, high-quality food from local farmers, artisans, and restaurants.

Listed as an "Essential Business" by the city of San Francisco, the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market remains open during the shelter-in-place, and is actually a safer shopping experience as it is open-air and offers a shorter supply chain with less food handling.

Open: Tuesdays and Thursdays (10 am to 2 pm), Saturday (8 am to 2 pm)

Mina Group

We’ve been honored to have the acclaimed Mina Group, Chef Michaal Mina’s restaurant group that runs well-loved spots like Pabu, International Smoke, and Michael Mina, as our Food & Beverage partner for our restaurant and bar. While their restaurants are closed in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19, the Mina Family Kitchen is open! Born out of the desire to feed the MINA employees and their families, every meal that is purchased directly benefits their employees and enables them to continue offering them a hot family meal daily. Additionally, the creation of Mina Family Kitchen allows them to create jobs and employ as many people as possible.

They’re offering a globally inspired menu for lunch and dinner, including the bold flavors of Middle Eastern cooking that Chef Michael Mina’s mother used to make, as well as collaborations with MINA Group’s many talented chef partners. The kitchen is open for lunch and dinner orders Monday through Saturday from 12pm to 8pm. Check out the amazing menu on their website and place your order for pickup or delivery by phone, email or online

Takeout and delivery: Monday - Saturday, 12pm to 8pm

Also, their newest concept, Indie Superette, a modern-day corner grocer with a unique blend of artisanal and convenient items including fresh pressed juices, smoothies, acai bowls and a range of other superfood dishes remains open for takeout in the Marina at 3060 Fillmore Street.

Open for takeout: Monday - Sunday, 8am to 6pm

Book Passage

Book Passage is a San Francisco institution that has served the community for more than 40 years, as a bookstore and host to many author events over the years. We've been delighted to partner with Book Passage on our SHACK15 Conversations series, bringing to you some of the most engaging and thought-provoking authors of today.

Book Passage has temporarily closed their physical spaces, but you can order books, e-books and audiobooks on their website, as well as get recommendations on what to read during these times of transition.
